The first and only remaining hotel in Mt. Crested Butte from the year the ski area opened.
Crested Butte Mountain Resort opened in 1963. The Nordic Inn opened with it, and it is the only hotel in Mt. Crested Butte left standing from that first year. Every other lodge on this mountain came later.
A full renovation a few years ago kept the character of the original building and added the comfort you want now — proper beds, a fire that is always lit, and somewhere to dry your boots. We are the longest operating lodge in Gunnison County.
Home is not a place, it is a feeling. We mean that fairly literally: guests get treated like family, there are cookies by the fire after a long day out, and somebody who actually knows the mountain answers the phone.
Start in the Breakfast Room with a continental breakfast and a coffee before you head out. It is included, every day, for every guest — including the ones staying in the Residence and the Chalet.
Come back to a fire in the Great Room. Sit, eat a cookie, play a game, or just look at the mountain going dark through the window. Some of the best holiday memories are just sitting in front of a fire at the end of the day with a drink and somebody to talk to.
Two wine dispensers, a liquor dispenser and a beer fridge, on a pre-paid card you pick up at check-in. No need to head back out for a nightcap.
